We’ve been discussing in our church about the need to dream again. We all have dreams, but sometimes life pulls us in a different direction and we find ourselves becoming lethargic and cavalier.
That’s why you need to constantly check yourself and ensure that you always have something new ahead of you. If you have nothing to aspire to, you will soon expire.
You need to dream again, and sometimes that means reviving an old dream and looking for new ways to execute it. In case you need some encouragement, here are five reasons why you shouldn’t give up on your dreams:
1. You have the capacity to fulfill them
Your dreams may seem out of reach, but they wouldn’t have been given to you if you couldn’t fulfill them. That’s why all of us have different dreams and goals because we have been uniquely created to achieve them. If someone else tried to put on your dream, it would not fit them.
2. Your dream is your tool to bring positive change to the world
You are not here by happenstance or circumstance, God brought you here on a purpose and for a purpose. That’s why your dream was tailor-made to help you make a positive impact on the world. Your dream is your weapon to destroy the work of the enemy.
3. If you can dream it, you can do it
If your dream was impossible to achieve, you wouldn’t have been able to dream it in the first place. Anything you see in your heart, you can bring into your life. As Albert Einstein said, your imagination is a preview of coming attractions in your life. You will get what you see.
4. Other people have achieved their dreams, so you can achieve yours
The Bible says in Hebrews 6:12 that the way to get what you desire is to imitate those who through faith and patience have gotten what was promised to them. If you follow the manual of successful people, you will be successful. Life answers to principles so apply the right ones and your dreams will become reality.
5. God is backing you up
This is the most important reason why you shouldn’t give up on your dream. If God be for you, it doesn’t matter what’s coming against you. You and God are the majority, and you’re the winning team because the victory is yours already. Draw strength from the truth that God is with you till the end of your days and he will bring every good work to completion in your life.
Make up your mind this week to go back to the drawing board and dust off those dreams. Stay focused, be deliberate, partner with God to co-create your life and watch as everything works out in your favour. You are blessed.
