Dreams cannot grow just anywhere, they need a specific atmosphere to survive and thrive. If you want your dreams to become reality, you’ll have to nurture them carefully. Carrying a dream is like carrying a baby, it should reflect in your behaviour.
Pregnant women are careful about what they eat, what they wear and where they go, and this should apply to dreamers too. To protect your dreams and keep them from expiring, here are three types of people you should avoid:
These are the people who speak against your dream and tell you it’s impossible. They are not ready to chase their own dreams, but for some reason they feel authorized to condemn yours. If you’re around naysayers long enough, their words will take root in you and begin to bear fruit. Avoid them at all costs.
2. The Insecure
These people know you are capable of achieving your dreams, but they try to discourage you. They doubt their own self-worth, so they try to project their insecurities on you. You’ll always hear them asking “Who do you think you are?” They always want to talk you down and reduce your self-esteem. Don’t allow them succeed.
3. The Parasites
People in this group can sense potential from a mile away. They know you will achieve your dreams, so they pretend to be your friends for as long as they can. They want to get into your inner circle and rise with you while you grow. However, when they see you about to bear fruit, they get to work cutting you down. Parasites are dream killers and they attack at sensitive times. You need to be on your guard.
The major key to protecting your dreams, is to ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and the gift of discernment. He’s the only one who can reveal to you the heart and intent of every man. Let him guide you in all friendships, alliances and connections. Nobody can deceive the Holy Spirit.
